Bhopal: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, is set to visit Ganjbasoda in Vidisha district on Wednesday, where a Christian missionary school was vandalised by right-wing extremist 'Bajrang Dal' workers on Monday.

Hundreds of residents, including right-wing activists, barged into St Joseph School and threw stones, claiming that eight Hindu youngsters had been converted to Christianity. Several pupils from Class 12 were in the school for their exams at the time of the incident. "The chief minister will have a meeting with district officials to take stock of the situation during his visit to Ganjbasoda," according to soruce.

The issue of the conversion of eight pupils was initially brought to light in October, when the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) filed a warning to the district administration to investigate. The situation has been tight since then.

According to reports, right-wing activists arranged a gathering with local residents in Ganjbasoda town the day before the incident at St Joseph School, and brochures were distributed with a message about the purported conversion of eight Hindu children.

Right-wing activists barged into St Joseph School and threw stones and caused a commotion for more than an hour, but students and staff were unharmed. The school leadership has denied that Hindu students are being converted.
