Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib has expressed concern over the lack of pace in the pace bowlers. They feel that in today's time the fast bowlers are not able to bowl as fast as they used to. Talking about the reason behind this, he said, the rules and rigor of the game do not give them that opportunity.

Shoaib was the first player who bowled at a speed of 100 meters per hour. He said that 10 years ago, the bowler was bowling at a speed of 155 kmph and now he is bowling suddenly at a speed of 135 km per hour. Now we have only a few genuine bowlers left. Earlier South Africa had 6 players alone.

Pakistan's young fast bowler Nasim had told before the England series that he is working on increasing his pace. Regarding which he said, "I want to be among the top 3 bowlers in the world. Our coach Waqar Younis is instructing us quite well. I am trying to speed up my pace but focus on the line and length is also."
