Mumbai: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the money laundering case against India's most wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim and other members of his gang, has got new and important information. The Enforcement Directorate came to know that the gangster was sending Rs 10 lakh each month to his siblings and relatives including Iqbal Kaskar. Iqbal Kaskar was also arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case. It may be noted that this information has been given by witness Khalid Usman Sheikh who is the younger brother of a childhood friend of Iqbal Kaskar. Iqbal Kaskar's childhood friend has died.
Khalid's deceased elder brother Abdul Samad was a childhood friend of Iqbal Kaskar and started working for the Dawood Ibrahim gang. On December 7, 1990, Abdul Samad was killed in a gang war between the Dawood Ibrahim gang and the Arun Gawli gang. In his statement to the Enforcement Directorate, Khalid Usman said that my brothers Abdul Samad and Iqbal Kaskar were childhood friends and they spent a long time together. He said that my brother was killed on 7th December 1990 in a gang war between Arun Gawli and Dawood Ibrahim gang. When my elder brother was killed, Iqbal was in Dubai and when he returned to India, he came to see my mother. Because of this, he expressed grief over my brother being killed in a gang war. Since then whenever Iqbal Kaskar called me and my brother Shabbir Usman, we had to leave. Please tell that Shabbir Usman is currently in jail after being arrested in a drug case.
He said that when we used to visit him he used to feed us and we would spend an hour or two with him and then come back home. Then Iqbal Kaskar told me that Dawood Ibrahim sends 10 lakh rupees every month to all his siblings and relatives. This money was sent by Dawood through his henchmen. Then Iqbal Kaskar told me that he too used to get 10 lakh rupees every month from Dawood. Khalid Usman also revealed that Salim Ahmed Syed aka Salim Patel knew him by his name. He said Patel lived in the same neighborhood and worked as a driver for Haseena Parkar, the sister of the deceased Salim Patel and Khalid Dawood Ibrahim and Iqbal Kaskar, who has died. Salim Patel also used to grab land for Haseena Parkar and settle property disputes. Haseena Parkar used the name of Dawood Ibrahim a lot and earned Rs. He told that once such a flat in Bandra, Mumbai was forcibly occupied by Salim Patel and Haseena Parkar.
