Gwalior: 2000 rupees note has not been given to the banks for filling cash in bank ATMs for the last 7 months. As a result, 95 per cent of the 450 ATMs are from which 2000 rupee notes have stopped coming out. There are 5 per cent of ATMs which are delivering 2000 notes.

These ATMs are filled with cash deposited at the cash counter by the branch of the bank concerned. Scab and Chest officials said that after the end of demonetisation, RBI has not sent the currency of the new 2000 rupee note. Delivery to ATMs is closed. Outdated notes are in circulation due to lack of new notes. People who have got married in their homes and need to withdraw large amount. They are facing a lot of trouble. Because 2000 notes are being found in only a few banks and traders are also looking very upset with this situation.

There is 1 currency scab and 5 chests of RBI in the city. SBI has a scab. Its limit is 1000 crores. In which Bank of Baroda has a chest with a limit of 500 crore, UCO Bank has 200, Oriental Bank of Commerce has 150, Central Bank 100 and Punjab National Bank has chest of 50 crore. An official informed that after demonetisation, new notes of Rs 2000 did not come from the RBI, so new cash notes have not been given to the cash filling agencies in ATMs, the same people also come to ask for new notes for the wedding ceremony. Have to return with despair. For this reason only the old 2000 note is in circulation.

In order to maintain currency flow, RBI sends around 2000 to 2100 crore rupees to the scab and chest in the city. This amount keeps decreasing or increasing according to the demand. In the same demonetization, the RBI issued a note of 2000 rupees. New cassettes of new sizes were installed in the ATM to insert this note. But the cassettes are empty due to non-receipt of 2000 notes for the last 7 months. Right now only cassettes with 500, 200 and 100 rupee notes are being filled in 95 per cent ATMs.
