A few days after a gruesome killing of Shraddha, a similar incident was reported from west Delhi in which a man slashed the face of his live-in partner  more than times with a chopper and then killed her by slitting her throat. The incident took in the Tilak Nagar area of west Delhi on Thursday.  

As per the information, The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Rekha while her live-in partner as 45-year-old Manpreet Singh. He allegedly killed Rekha and gave sedatives to her 16-year-old daughter. After committing the crime, He escaped  from the scene. The accused managed to flee to Punjab on Friday morning. The was arrested later from his village in Patiala.  The girl, in her FIR, stated that when she woke up at around 6 am on Thursday, Manpreet gave her some pills and asked her to sleep.

The victim’s daughter said, “After some time I got suspicious and asked him about my mother. He said she had gone to the market.” After this the girl called her cousin after Singh left in his i20 car, and police were informed. Police rushed to the spot and broke open the door of their room and found the dead body of Rekha.

As per the information the dead body of Rekha with multiple wounds on her face and neck, and her right ring finger mutilated. Police also started an investigation and scanned dozens of CCTV camera footage at the toll plazas based on Singh’s mobile phone locations. As per the police official, “The accused has a criminal record and is involved in six heinous cases, including kidnapping for ransom, attempt to murder, and Arms Act. He was tracked down by a special team comprising DCP Rohit Meena, ACP Yashpal, and inspector Sunil Kumar from his village within 24 hours of the crime.”

When the police interrogated the man he told the cops that his father was settled in the US and he was a graduate from Patiala University. He  got married in 2006 and has two sons. He came in touch with Rekha through a common friend in 2015. He started staying with her in Ganesh Nagar and took care of her expenses. As Rekha  realized that she is suspecting Singh that he wanted to go back to his first wife and children and therefore, asked him to cut ties with them.  Rekha stopped him from visiting them in Punjab. Rekha also allegedly threatened to expose his criminal activities. The accused has confessed his crime in the interrogation. He told that he had started feeling trapped in the relationship. He bought a chopper and killed her after a fight.
