Puri: Permission to open shrines, temples are being given with strict adherence to corona protocol amid fears of the third wave of corona across the country. The Shri Jagannath Temple in the Puri district of Odisha has also been opened to devotees every Saturday from today. The temple was open for 5 days in the first week. Jagannath Temple was opened for devotees, but strict rules were ordered for it.

According to the same Corona guideline, devotees were allowed to enter the temple 5 days a week from 7 am to 7 pm. It was decided to close the temple on Saturday and Sunday for cleanliness and now the temple will remain open on Saturday as well. Devotees were made mandatory to show a full vaccination certificate or corona test report before entering the temple. A detailed brief of officials was also held before opening the temple recently.

At the same time, precautionary measures and rules have been adopted to ensure that the crowd at the temple does not prove to be a super spreader in any way. It was made mandatory for devotees visiting the temple to bring vaccination certificates or negative test reports of coronavirus. It was clarified by the temple administration that the Corona Test Report should not be more than 96 hours old.
