Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector J Niwas on Tuesday, Joint Collector Madhavi Latha, Police Commissioner B Srinivasulu, Municipal Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple EO in view of Dussehra celebrations at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Temple above Indrakeeladri from 7 to 15 October. Oversees the arrangements for Dussehra celebrations in the temple, Maha Mandapam, Bathing Ghat etc. along with D. Bhramaramba. After that told the media that, helicopter ride will be arranged for the visitors by the district administration.
He said that passengers can enjoy the view of Indrakeeladri hill by paying a fee of Rs 3,500 for a 6 minute ride and Rs 6000 for a 15 minute ride. The ride will be available from October 9. He said the venue for the helicopter ride has not been decided yet. Referring to Darshan, he said that online ticket booking is necessary to enter the temple. He said a Utsav committee would be formed with officials of Endowment, Irrigation and Revenue Department and VMC to monitor the entry of devotees. He said that as per the COVID guidelines, only 10,000 devotees would be allowed for darshan every day. He once again clarified that bathing in the ghats in the Krishna river is not allowed.
The Collector and the Commissioner of Police inspected the parking facility for VIP vehicles. He also inspected the Mundan site and directed the officials to expedite the arrangements for the convenience of the devotees. The officials also inspected the queues, barricades and other arrangements. Police Commissioner B Srinivasulu said that foolproof police arrangements would be made for the nine-day Dussehra celebrations.
