NEW DELHI: Sukant Kadam, an Indian para shuttler, is now ranked No. 2 in the world in the SL 4 category following his recent successes on the international stage.
At the recently finished Peru Para-Badminton International in Lima, the top shuttler ended the year with a gold medal. At the BWF Para World Badminton Championships in Tokyo in November, he also took home a bronze medal.
The world and Paralympic champion in SL4, France's Lucas Mazur, is in front of the talented shuttler.
Sukant Kadam said, "I am incredibly excited about becoming world no. 2; I have worked really hard in my training, and it reflected in the results I was able to achieve, which helped me to be world no. 2.
"It's amazing to finish 2022 ranked second in the world; this will only inspire me to work more. However, there is still work to be done because 2023 is a crucial year that encompasses the Asian Para Games and Paralympic Qualifications. I want to keep up this high level of performance while also improving.
