Recently, the birth anniversary of late Marathi folk artist Shaheer Vithal Umap was celebrated. Even after his death, he is alive in everyone's heart. If he were among us today, he would have been 89 years old but sadly he is not among us. We have lost him. Shaheer has taught us about culture, about our heritage, he has worked on various projects-related to Marathi folk.
Recently actor Siddharth Jadhav who has been awarded the Shahir Vitthal Umap Award long ago also paid tribute to the artist.
The late artist died in 2010, shortly before his performance at the Deh Sukh Bhoomi Maidan, with heart failure, the artist devoted his entire life to art on his workplace, he then finally said goodbye to the world. Actor Siddharth Jadhav remembered him by sharing his picture.
