Chandigarh: The political turmoil in the country has increased considerably over the past few years and the ongoing power threat in Punjab has become a topic of discussion. CM Captain Amarinder Singh is making every effort to tackle the crisis. Meanwhile, Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu has attacked Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on the issue and advised him to work in the right direction. However, in the middle of the power crisis, a big truth has now come to light.
Navjot Singh Sidhu, who surrounded his own Congress government and the erstwhile Akali Dal government over the ongoing power crisis in Punjab, has not been paying the electricity bill of his house for the past several months. According to reports, Navjot Singh Sidhu has not paid his bill for the last nine months and owes a total of Rs 8,67,540.
In fact, recently, Navjot Singh Sidhu of the Congress had cornered Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on the power cut issue and told him that if the right direction was worked out, there would be no need for power cuts. But when detected, the poll appeared to be unfolding in Navjot Singh's case himself. Surrounding the Punjab government, Sidhu had said that Punjab is buying power at an average cost of Rs 4.54 per unit. National Average 3.85 and Chandigarh 3.44 per unit. Punjab has to depend more on 3 private thermal plants to buy electricity and buy power at Rs.5-8 per unit which is more than the rest of the states.
