So far, it has been Sidhu's journey

State President Sunil Jakhar has resigned from the post after losing the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, which has not yet been accepted. Navjot Sidhu has not yet handled the charge of his new department, power and renewable energy sources. After the Cabinet meeting on June 6, the portfolios of several ministers, including Sidhu, were reshuffled by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. Under the decision, Sidhu was entrusted with the responsibility of the Department of Power and Renewable Energy Sources by withdrawing local bodies and tourism and cultural departments.

At the same time, the Captain had questioned the functioning of the local bodies department immediately after the Lok Sabha elections and asked Sidhu to withdraw the department. Therefore, the reshuffle of the portfolios of ministers was seen as the Captain's action against Sidhu in particular. An angry Sidhu reached Delhi and met Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi and not only complained about the captain but also asked for his old department back.
