After being deprived of their rights for over seven decades, the Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir is no longer in the mood to wait for minority status. A minority commission is to be formed after the reorganization of the state. At present, it has not been decided whether the state will set up its own commission or only minorities will get facilities under the Central Commission. Similarly, the situation in the Anand Marriage Act is not clear. In such a situation, the representatives of the Sikh community have started preparing to raise the issue before the Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu.
