Sikkim Covid-19: No fresh death reported in last 24 hours

Gangtok: Sikkim recorded 18 new positive cases on Saturday, increasing to 31,654, according to the health department's bulletin. With no fresh death reported in the last 24 hours, the state's coronavirus death toll remained unchanged at 388. Out of the new cases, East Sikkim district reported 13, while West Sikkim recorded five cases.

Sikkim now has 278 active cases, while 30,671 patients have recovered from the disease. Altogether 317 patients have migrated to other states. The Himalayan state has so far tested 2,53,269 samples for coronavirus. Sikkim's COVID-19 positivity and recovery rates stand at 4 per cent and 97.8 per cent respectively. The state has given the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine to 100.82 per cent of the eligible population, including visitors, while 79.48 per cent have received both the doses.

India's cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 94.70 crore. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya called on 19 states to increase their vaccination pace so that India can administer 100 crore doses of the vaccine over the next few days, and warned that the prevention of COVID-19 could be on track if protocols were not followed. can get off.
