Guwahati: Corona infection is continuously increasing in the country. However the northeastern state of Sikkim is still untouched by this epidemic. In such a situation, the state of Ahtian has banned the arrival of tourists till October this year. Let us know that in order to prevent the spread of Corona infection, the work started in the government offices in Sikkim on April 20, following the consolidated revised guidelines issued by the Center on April 15 in respect of the lockdown implemented across the country.

The lockdown in the country has been extended to May 3 in view of the corona virus. During this period, the state government offices opened and on the basis of roster one third of the employees appeared. The state government has allowed three buses of Sikkim Nationalized Transport (SNT) to operate for movement of employees.

Agriculture and construction activities have started in the state with conditions, farmers have been asked to keep distance from social interaction and construction work will be done only by local workers. Permission has also been granted to construct power projects and medicines and other essential items. The trucks and heavy vehicles engaged in transportation of goods used in construction were allowed to come on the roads of Sikkim only after screening.
