There has been an announcement of reopening of schools and colleges in the epidemic-free state of Sikkim from June 15. Education Minister informed that at present, classes from 9th to 12th will be started again, while classes from Nursery to VIII will start only after the next order. The state government has decided to open all educational institutions in the fourth phase of lockdown.

Education Minister Kunga Lepcha said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind all the big classes and board examinations. He said that all the schools and colleges in the state will be reopened from June 15. By implementing the guidelines, we will start classes from ninth to 12th, but there will not be any class from nursery to eighth. He told that online class will continue for the rest of the classes. The state education minister said that the annual examinations have been postponed till February 2021, so that more focus can be placed on studies. He said that the college and university will run in two shifts. During this time, all people have to follow the necessary directions.
