Padmaavat actor Ranveer Singh soon going to see in Rohit Shetty's movie 'Simmba'. The movie will be produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Production.

Earlier  Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar announced that Sara Ali Khan will be playing the lead alongside Ranveer Singh.

There were reports that R Madhavan was approached to play the villain in the film. However, he couldn't take the film due to some reasons. Then Abhishek Bachchan too turned down the offer to play the bad guy.

Now, as reported by a leading tabloid, Sonu Sood will play the villain in Simmba. About the same, the actor said, "I am a huge Rohit Shetty fan. When actors come to the industry they want to do certain kind of roles. He makes them look like characters who inspire people from smaller towns to become actors. I am really looking forward to this collaboration."

The first look of the film was released a few months ago and Ranveer Singh looks like a perfect cop for this masala film. About the film, Ranveer had said earlier, " I have admired Rohit sir’s work for a very long time now. We also have Karan Johar as the producer in this film. It’s a genre or brand of cinema that I thoroughly love. Of course, socially, I interact with people who are the ‘multiplex audience’, but my heart is ‘massy’ and that’s actually what I get a huge kick out of."

Simmba will be releasing on December 28, 2018.
