LOS ANGELES: In a recent interview, Simon Cowell discussed his desire for a "spontaneous" nuptial with future bride Lauren Silverman.

According to Mirror.co.uk, he has been dating Lauren, 45, since 2013, and they announced their engagement at the start of this year.

The couple, who have a son named Eric who is eight years old, were reportedly planning to get married in London during the summer, according to earlier media reports. However, nothing of the sort happened.

According to Mirror.co.uk, Simon has stated that, rather than preparing an elaborate ceremony, he intends to whisk Lauren down the aisle at the drop of a hat.

"I prefer to make everything spontaneous, and doing so will make it a lot more enjoyable," he said in an interview with The Sun. I don't think we'll be getting married in Las Vegas, but whatever we do will undoubtedly be enjoyable, he said, as reported by Mirror.co.uk.

The star also joked he organized most of his other half’s wedding for fear it would get “out of hand”.He has also suggested there could be a return of the X Factor, which was shelved by ITV in 2019 after ratings fell.

It appears 2023 is set to be a great year for Cowell, including a new venture, a TikTok-based talent scouting initiative and the return of Britain’s Got Talent.
