Shiva Shankar Reddy, YS Vivekananda Reddy's brother-in-law, has made a statement to the CBI in connection with the former MP's murder. According to Shiva Shankar Reddy, Jagan has been unhappy with Viveka since 2004.

"Viveka received the Kadapa MP ticket from the Congress party in 2004. YS Jagan, on the other hand, was adamant on getting the MP ticket. That was not acceptable to YS. Viveka was thus denied a ticket for the 2009 elections, and YS died in September of that year. Following that, Kiran Kumar Reddy was appointed Chief Minister, and Viveka was appointed Minister. "This did not sit well with Jagan," he said.

"After that, Jagan formed a new political party. Viveka did not approve of this, which is why he refused to join the Jagan party. Viveka was defeated by Vijayamma in the 2011 by-elections. After that, Viveka was encouraged to join YCP by myself and YS Sudhir Reddy. Jagan first refused to accompany him to the celebration. Viveka finally joined the YCP in December 2012 after repeated efforts. However, there are continuing distinctions between them," Shiva Shankar Reddy explained.

Despite joining the YCP in 2012, YS Vivekananda Reddy was not handed an MP ticket in the 2014 elections. Because he is a relative of Jagan's wife, YS Avinash Reddy received it. Viveka received an MLC ticket from the YSRCP in 2017, but was defeated because his own supporters colluded against him. Avinash and his father also conspired against Viveka, according to the statement.
