New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing controversy over the Taj Mahal in Agra, a historian had filed an RTI on namaz, to which the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has responded. After this answer, once again there may be an uproar over prayers in the Taj Mahal. This RTI was filed by historian Rajkishore Raje. On the question asked about namaz, asi has said that no information is available.

Historian Rajkishore Raje says that namaz is not mentioned in any of the texts of the Shah Jahan period. In the time of Shah Jahan, the entry of the general public was not allowed in the Taj Mahal, so there is no question of namaz in the Taj Mahal at that time. Historian Rajkishore Raje said that there should not be any religious activity at any historical site. It may be recalled that a few days ago, four tourists who were offering prayers at the Taj Mahal were arrested by the police. Three of them are from Hyderabad and one from Azamgarh. Police also lodged an FIR against them.

Let us know that four tourists who had come to visit the Taj Mahal had offered prayers in the evening at the Shahi Masjid. On this, the CISF personnel deployed there had detained the four tourists. The accused tourists said that they all study, they did not know at all that there was a ban on offering prayers at the Taj Mahal.
