UK: A Singapore man accused of killing his wife in an English hotel has strangled her to death with a pillow to prevent her from "harassing her", according to British media.

According to British broadcaster BBC, 51-year-old Fong Soong Hurt admitted to the murder on March 18, but denied the murder of his wife Pek Ying Ling.

On 6 December last year, 51-year-old Peck was found dead at the County Aparthotel on Westgate Road in Newcastle. Later, Fong was detained as a suspect.

According to CNA, his injuries were determined by a postmortem to be consistent with being pressed to a pillow.

I wanted him to keep quiet, Fong reportedly told Newcastle Police.
Peck died while the couple was vacationing in Europe to see their children.

According to a BBC report on Monday, Fong killed his wife in his hotel room on the morning of December 6, hours before boarding a flight to Paris. This information was provided to Newcastle Crown Court.
After that, Fong called his son, who was attending a university in Newcastle, and admitted to hurting the boy's mother. She left. She has left.

According to Fong, "I just lost it. To calm her down, I tried to cover her mouth. I suddenly lost it.

Although Peck was unhappy that Fong had continued to smoke while he was ill, Fong had to fall several times during his travels and visit a hospital in Newcastle, prosecutor Peter Makepeace QC said the couple's There was no known history of violence in between.

Makepeace speculates that Fong may have knelt on his wife's shoulders to exert the pressure needed to kill her during the attack.
Makepeace disagreed with Fong's claim that he had "no memory" of the murder and was therefore less responsible.

The prosecutor continued, "He lost his temper, he broke down, and he put her to death, apparently to reprimand or harass her or to keep her silent."

According to CNA, Fong appeared on the dock wearing a gray sweater and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
He had fallen several times while in Britain, the court heard. The first incident happened on November 27 last year when the couple were on a holiday on the Isle of Skye, a small island off the coast of Scotland.

After falling down a steep ledge during a walk, he managed to return to the hotel where the staff had taken care of him. Before being taken to the hospital for examination, Fong received a combination of painkillers from paramedics.

They spent the night in hospital and were released the next morning, after which the couple continued their road trip through Scotland in a rented car.

The court was informed that Fong later went to another hospital for a checkup because the fall caused him pain.

According to the prosecution, the couple traveled to Edinburgh to meet their eldest son before boarding the train to Newcastle. The family spent time together, watching a football game and enjoying the local sights. During that time, Fong experienced several falls, requiring repeated hospital visits.

After Fong was discharged from the hospital, the couple returned to their residence in the County Aparthotel, the court was informed. At 12:17 p.m. on December 6, when Peck was last seen alive, he was caught on security cameras entering his room.

In Britain, life in prison is the maximum punishment for murder or manslaughter. The hearing is still ongoing and could go on for more than a week.
