Colombian singer Shakira, who has been in the news for her songs, is seen getting caught in the legal tangle. Shakira this time has been the subject of discussions due to the tax fraud case. A Spanish court has also dismissed singer Shakira's appeal in a tax fraud case. After which the path to prosecute them has become even clearer.  

The case first came into the spotlight in 2018, when Spanish prosecutors also accused Shakira of failing to pay 1.45 million euros ($1.55 million) in taxes on income earned between 2012 and 2014, after which Shakira had also appeared in court. In this case, she had filed an appeal in the court which has now been dismissed by the court.

The court said that there is sufficient evidence that Shakira has not yet complied with her commitment to pay taxes in the state. In such a situation, Shakira will also be prosecuted. If all the charges against the singer are proved and found guilty in this case, then she can be jailed along with the payment of a fine.  

Singer Shakira had appeared in the court in June 2019 in the tax fraud case and had categorically denied any wrongdoing in her testimony. On her behalf, it was said that the payment has also been made after getting information about the dues from the tax office, however, now if the charges against Shakira are proved, then she may have to go to jail. The point to note here is that the judge can waive the jail term for first-time offenders. At the moment, there is no official confirmation in this regard so far.
