A special CBI court today convicted five accused including Deramukhi Ram Rahim in the Ranjit Singh murder case. Under the information received, all the convicts will now be sentenced on October 12. Today, Friday, the accused Deramukhi Gurmeet Ram Rahim and Krishna Kumar appeared through video conferencing. Meanwhile, accused Avtar, Jasvir and Sabdil appeared before the court directly. All the accused were convicted during the hearing.

Let me tell all of you that the court was scheduled to pronounce the first verdict in the case on August 26. "The final arguments of the defence in the 19-year-old case were completed on August 12," says prosecution counsel HPS Verma. The accused were convicted after about two and a half hours of arguments in the court of CBI Judge Dr Sushil Kumar Garg.

What's the matter- In fact, on July 10, 2002, Ranjit Singh of Kurukshetra, who was a member of the management committee of the Dera, was murdered. The Dera management suspected that Ranjit Singh had written an anonymous letter of sexual abuse of Sadhvi from his sister. At the same time, Ranjit's father, dissatisfied with the police investigation, filed a petition in the High Court in January 2003, demanding a CBI inquiry. In such a situation, when the CBI investigated the case, they had registered a case against the accused and in the year 2007, the court framed the charges against the accused. You all must know that Gurmeet Ram Rahim has already been sentenced to 20 years in the case of sexual abuse of Sadhvis and he is serving a life sentence in Sunaria Jail in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case. Ram Rahim was earlier sentenced by Jagdeep Singh, who was a CBI judge. Now in his place, the CBI Judge in Chandigarh, Dr Sushil Garg has been appointed to the Panchkula CBI special court.
