Kejriwal government of Delhi has raised questions about the system of MCD school. Delhi deputy CA Manish Sisodia has expressed his displeasure at teachers not getting salary and books in MCD school. Sisodia has written a letter to the Principal Secretary Urban Development Ministry. Sisodia has written in the letter that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has failed to fulfill its primary responsibility, so the Urban Development Department should take steps. Take over the MCD Vidyalaya, now the Directorate of Education, Delhi Government.
Sisodia has written further in the letter that the Municipal Corporation diverts the grant issued by the Delhi Government to another work. So it would be better if instead of giving such a huge grant to the municipal corporations, the Delhi government directorate of education should take over the schools and run it directly.
According to Manish Sisodia, the Delhi government has given Rs 853 crore to the three municipal corporations for primary education. In this, the largest portion i.e. Rs 393.3 crore has been given to North Delhi Municipal Corporation. Manish Sisodia has ordered that teachers should be given salary and free books to students immediately and action-taking report in this regard should be sent to them as soon as possible.
