NEW DELHI: The Rouse Avenue Court ordered on Monday, April,17 that Delhi's former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia will continue to remain in judicial custody till May 1.

Sisodia was brought before Special CBI Judge MK Nagpal, who granted the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) request to extend his custody for an additional two weeks.

In the development and implementation of the now-defunct spirits strategy for 2021–2022, Sisodia has been charged with corruption. Allegations of criminal behaviour, including money theft, are made in this case. The CBI first detained Sisodia on February 26.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, was also called in by the CBI on Sunday, and he was interrogated as a witness in the excise policy case for about nine hours. While he was being questioned, the Delhi police apprehended numerous leaders from his party who had been demonstrating near the CBI headquarters in Delhi, including Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha, Atishi, Saurabh Bharadwaj, and Kailash Gehlot.

"I received 56 or so queries. I responded to all of them by stating that we have nothing to conceal. The supposed spirits fraud is manufactured, untrue, and driven by unethical politics. After leaving the CBI offices on Sunday at around 8.30 p.m., Kejriwal told reporters, "We will die but not give up honesty.
