Jal Nigam Recruitment Scam: SIT will file charge sheet, 14 people including Azam Khan found guilty

Lucknow: Special Task Force (SIT) has filed an application in the court in the Jal Nigam recruitment scam in Uttar Pradesh. An application has been filed regarding the non-bailable warrant. In the SIT investigation, 14 people, including former minister Azam Khan, have been found guilty. The SIT will file a charge sheet against all in the court. The culprits can also be questioned.

SIT had filed a case against Azam Khan on 25 April 2018 in the Jal Nigam recruitment scam case. Azam Khan was named in the case along with the city development secretary SP Singh, former MD PK Asudani, chief engineer Anil Khare. During the Samajwadi Party (SP) rule in Uttar Pradesh, the recruitment of 853 JE and 335 Clerk posts in Jal Nigam along with 117 posts of Assistant Engineer. After investigation, SIT has found Azam Khan guilty. After this, SIT will soon file a charge sheet in the court.

Earlier, Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam Khan suffered a major setback when the Allahabad High Court rejected their bail application. The court reserved the verdict on 19 November after the two sides concluded the debate. At present, Azam Khan, wife Tajin Fatima and son Abdullah Azam are imprisoned in Sitapur Jail.
