Sita Navamia9 April 29, 2023) marks the birth anniversary of Maa Sita. Sita Navami is a major celebration day of Hindu religion. Sita Jayanti is celebrated on the ninth day of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. This day is observed as the birth anniversary of Goddess Sita. Married women observe a fast on the day of Sita Navami and pray for the long life of their husbands. Sita Navami is also known as Sita Jayanti and Janaki Navami. 

Mother Sita is believed to have been born on Tuesday in Pushya Nakshatra. Lord Rama and Goddess Sita were wed. On Navami Tithi in the Shukla Paksha of the Chaitra month, Lord Rama was also born. Sita Jayanti occurs one month after Ram Navami in the Hindu calendar.

King Janak of Mithila adopted Goddess Sita as his own daughter. As a result, this day is often referred to as Janaki Navami. Hindu mythology claims that King Janaka discovered a baby girl inside a gold coffin when he was preparing the area for a yajna. King Janak gave the girl the name Sita because a ploughed field was known as Sita.

In Lord Rama and Janaki temples all around the nation, special worship and rituals are carried out on the day of Sita Navami. Flowers and lights are used as decorations in temples. After the Ramayana is read, bhajan events are held all over the place. Some people do the Ram Rath Yatra inside the temple, chanting "Jai Siya Ram" and singing pious hymns the entire time.

Sita Navami Worship: On Sita Navami, people worship Goddess Sita. On this day, married ladies fast and offer prayers for their husbands' long lives. It is believed that keeping the Sita Navami fast endows one with values like modesty, motherhood, sacrifice, and dedication. Marriage is made happy and peaceful by worshipping Sita and Lord Rama together.
