He told the reporters present at the press meet, "I am an Indian citizen and it is my duty to cast vote. I have my voter ID and hence I cast my vote. The election commission advises everyone to vote, and it is not my mistake that my name was missing from the voters' list. I voted just like everyone else."

He further said, "I had voted twice earlier in the same location, and even before a month when I checked, my name was on the list. So, I don't need to give an explanation on this."

Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo, in an interview, said that it was a mistake on the booth officer's part to have given special permission to Sivakarthikeyan to vote. He also stated that action will be taken against the officer.

Similarly, actor Srikanth's name was also missing from the voters' list. Like Siva, Srikanth also got 'special permission' to cast his vote. Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo said that necessary action will be taken against the officers who had allowed the actor to cast his vote.
