In a gruesome incident in Ups Etah village, a six-year-old girl child was allegedly raped by a 25-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Etah on Friday, according to police statement.
The man sexually assaulted the girl when she was playing outside her house in the afternoon, they said. The accused, who is said to be mentally ill, has been arrested, Station House Officer of Kotwali Police Station Pankaj Mishra said. The girl has been sent for medical examination, he said.
"Case will be registered against the accused on the basis of the medical examination report. The accused seems to be mentally ill and he is being interrogated," Mr Mishra said. He said the girl's family approached the police and filed a complaint against the accused.
MARRIED WOMAN RAPED BY PADDY TRADER IN UP'S BHADOHI: In another incident, a 30-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by a paddy trader when she had gone to receive the payment of the produce sold by her husband in a village in Aurai area here, police said on Friday.
The woman has alleged that when she had gone to Aurai police station for filing a written complaint of rape, the policemen present there tore up her complaint and chased her away. She later met the Bhadohi Superintendent of Police and pleaded for justice after which a case of rape, provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act among other sections of law was filed on Thursday.
