Skoda India unveiled the Slavia midsize car on Thursday, a competitor to the Honda City and Hyundai Verna. Before its global premiere on Thursday, the Czech carmaker teased the elegant and sharp-looking midsize sedan a few times. The sedan's price has yet to be revealed.

The sedan is part of the automaker's long-term plan for the Indian market, which runs through 2030. The sedan was designed in India with an emphasis on the Indian market. With the support of Kushaq and the new Slavia, the manufacturer hopes to gain a 5% market share in India.

Skoda Auto India hopes to gain a greater share of the luxury sedan market in India with the Slavia. Skoda Auto believes that the Slavia is designed to appeal to India's young customers.

Competitors of Skoda Slavia

Slavia was said to be replacing the Skoda Rapid, a midsize car in India that competes with Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Honda City, and others. The Skoda Slavia, on the other hand, will be offered as a single car rather than a Rapid replacement. The Slavia is a larger, more luxurious vehicle than the Skoda Rapid.

Variants of the Skoda Slavia

The Skoda Slavia will be offered in three distinct variants. It will also come in five other colour combinations. Crystal Blue is one of the colour possibilities.

Dimensions of the Skoda Slavia

The Skoda Slavia, for example, is 4,541 mm long, 1,752 mm wide, and 1,487 mm tall. The all-new Slavia is 128 mm longer, 53 mm wider, and 21 mm higher than the Skoda Rapid. The Skoda Slavia has a 99-millimeter longer wheelbase than the Rapid. Clearly, the Slavia provides more interior room and comfort. It is also larger than the Octavia of the first generation.

Slavia Skoda: Design

In terms of design, the Skoda Slavia adheres to the company's current stylistic philosophy. It receives a sculpted bonnet, sleek L-shaped LED projector headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, C-shaped split LED taillights, and razor-sharp crystalline character lines across the body, as well as the Skoda butterfly grille with chrome embellished vertical slats. It is equipped with dual-tone alloy wheels.

The sedan looks to be inspired by coupes, as seen by its silhouette. It is said to have been inspired by Bohemian crystals as well as Skoda's DNA.

Cabin and features of the Skoda Slavia

The Skoda Slavia sedan comes with a dual-spoke steering wheel that is identical to the one seen in the Skoda Kushaq. The centre 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system looks to be taken from the Kushaq SUV as well. It does, however, feature a completely digital instrument cluster in the digital cockpit, unlike Kushaq.

The interior is given a two-tone upscale design. The features include back air conditioning vents, wireless charging, and a computerised cockpit, among others.

Engine and transmission in the Skoda Slavia

The Skoda Slavia is built on the MQB A0 IN architecture, which is developed from Volkswagen AG's well-known MQB platform and has been particularly designed for the Indian market. A 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine are available for the sedan.

The smaller three-cylinder petrol engine produces 113 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It's available with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The bigger 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.

Skoda Slavia: Safety

The Skoda Slavia is equipped with a number of safety measures. Six airbags, ISOFIX, TPMS, Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD, ESC, and other features are included.
