Hollywood actor Will Smith has been banned for 10 years from Oscars and other academy events. The decision was taken on April 8, following will smith's slap scandal at the recent Oscar Ceremony 2022, in which he took a joke of host Chris Rock seriously and slapped him.

Will Smith banned for 10 years: The decision was taken after a vote by the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to ban Will Smith and after this vote, Will Smith has been banned for 10 years from all academies functions. However, though. Smith had also apologised for his behaviour and later resigned from the academy. 

Chris Rock made a joke about the hair of Will Smith's wife (Alopecia is suffering from salt disease), after which he reached the stage and slapped Chris in the mouth. Less than an hour after the incident, Will was given the title of Best Actor for his movie 'King Richard,' in which he played the father of famous tennis players Serena and Venus Williams.
