One of the top scientists in the country, Satyendra Nath Bose set up many examples for the students as well as made their country proud with their accomplishments. Learn about fun facts about mathematicians and scientists who study theoretical physics. Bose, Satyendra Nath:

One of the most forward-thinking mathematicians and theoretical physicists to come out of India was Satyendra Nath Bose, also known as the "Father of the God Particle." Bose, who was born on January 1st, 1894, in Kolkata (then Calcutta), made revolutionary advances in the field of physics. We provide some intriguing details on this brilliant guy as the nation commemorates his 128th birthday.

He showed a strong interest in several areas while he was a student, including physics, math, chemistry, the arts, and music. In 1913 and 1915, respectively, Bose completed his BSc and MSc in Applied Mathematics and passed both with a first rank. Throughout his academic career, he was a top performer. He enrolled at the University of Calcutta in 1916 as a research researcher and studied relativity there. At that time, quantum theory was still in its infancy.

The special and general relativity articles by Albert Einstein were translated by SN Bose and one of his research colleagues, Meghnad Saha, and published in 1919. They collaborated on a number of works in theoretical mathematics and physics. He was appointed Reader in Physics at the University of Dhaka, which is now the capital of Bangladesh, by the year 1921.

The second-highest civilian honour in India, the Padma Vibhushan, was given to Bose in 1954. Later, in 1959, when he was 65 years old, he was named a National Professor, the highest academic distinction, and he also joined the Royal Society.
