Puri: Today, the annual Snana ceremony of Lord Jagannath, Goddess Subhadra was performed without devotees amid the strictness of the covid-19 protocol. 'Snana Yatra,' according to the Hindu calendar before the Rath Yatra, is on the full moon day of the 'senior' month, also considered to be the birthday of Lord Jagannath.

Officials have informed that the district administration did not allow devotees to attend the 'Devsnana' festival for the second year because of the global epidemic and beefed up security around the 12th century temple. Curfew was imposed here since Wednesday night to ensure that people's gatherings were stopped. Puri DM Samarth Verma said the state government has made elaborate arrangements for the live telecast of the festival.

Verma further said that those who attended the rituals were examined RT and PCR and their investigation report was negative for covid-19, while the servants present during the event have received both doses of vaccine. The idols of God were bathed in the water of 108 pitchers drawn from the existing 'Suna Kuan' in the temple complex. In full public philosophy, Trimurti was then prepared in 'Gajanan' or 'Ganesh Avtar,' and prepared prasad will be distributed as every day.
