Jammu: Rain and snowfall alert has been sounded in Jammu and Kashmir. According to Meteorological Centre Srinagar, heavy rain and snowfall are expected on December 5 and 6. In the middle of the possibility, the Gurez-Bandipora route has been temporarily closed for traffic in the middle of SDM. In addition, traffic is expected to be disrupted in several hilly areas including Jammu-Srinagar National Highway due to rain.

Orders have been issued to the district management to strengthen emergency management. Snow and rain are going to intensify the cold. According to Meteorological Centre Srinagar, traffic on the middle road between Sadhana Top, Zojila, Sinthan Top, Mughal Road, Ramban-Banihal, Pir Panjal may be disrupted in the event of bad weather. It is going to have two to 3 and 6 to 7 inches of snow in many hilly areas.

The weather has been clear for the past several weeks but the winter has also increased. The minimum night temperature has dropped below zero in almost all districts of Kashmir. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.4 last night, Pahalgam minus 4.1 and Gulmarg minus 1.0 degrees Celsius.
 
In Jammu, the mercury recorded 26.0 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature last night was 10.0 degrees Celsius with the weather remaining clear throughout the day. Banihal in the division recorded a minimum temperature of 1.8 degrees Celsius last night, Batot 5.9, Katra 10.9 and Bhadrawah 3.7 degrees Celsius. Leh recorded a minimum temperature of minus 5.6 degrees Celsius last night. In Jammu and Kashmir, the weather will remain bad as western disturbances are active.
