Weather Update: Severe cold wave hits North India, chances of snowfall in Kashmir

New Delhi: The icy winds that have intensified after a snowfall in hilly areas have added to the cold across North India. Cold wave and fog have been causing a lot of trouble in several states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab. People in these areas are feeling melting. According to the weather department, the temperature may decline further in the next 3 to 4 days. That means the cold this week is going to grow.

Heavy snowfall in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir has added to the hardships of the people. The severe snowfall in the month of January has disturbed the people. In Srinagar, there has been so much snowfall that there is a problem in landing at the airport. Snow was removed from the runway at Srinagar airport on Sunday. The Jammu-Srinagar highway has been closed once again with continuous snowfall.

The weather department has warned that the risk of snowstorms continues to be accompanied by snowfall. In view of this, rescue teams have been ordered to be ready in hilly areas. In the cold wave conditions, the reservoir and water supply pipelines have been frozen. According to the Met department, the weather will remain dry till the end of the month.
