Know how constitution came into force on Republic Day

January 26 is celebrated as Republic Day in India. That is, on this day, our Constitution was implemented. This Constitution came into force in 1950. Since then, on January 26 every year, a special event is held at India Gate in Delhi which also has a heart-fascinated tableau with the parade. The country's first citizen, the president of the country salutes the parade.

Some rules and laws are required to conduct any civilized things which is essential for all people living in that society. Running the country also requires rules and laws that every citizens of the country need to obey. These rules and laws of the country are known as the Constitution which, in a way, is a document of the rules and laws of any country. It has been revealed that much in the country goes by the rules written in this document. If such rules and laws are not enacted in any country, the system of governance will be decided and it will take a dictatorial attitude and there will be no place in the name of democracy.

India became independent at midnight on 15th August 1947, and Indian had begun to form a separate constitution to run the country as soon as independence was received. Although the Constituent Assembly had already been constituted and the Constitution of India was being worked out from 9th December 1946, a committee was constituted on 29th August 1947 to form the Constitution of India and the Committee was appointed as the Chairman Bhimrao Ambedkar. The Constitution-making Committee read the constitutions of the world closely and then formulated its own constitution. The Committee took 26 November 1949, i.e., exactly 2 years, 11 months and 18 days and prepared the Constitution and handed over it to the Constituent Assembly, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on this day. This day is also celebrated as Constitution Day.
