According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, on Wednesday, the number of covid-19 infected in India has gone up to 10,937,320, after 11,610 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours. It has been learned that the number of active cases in the country is continuously going down and now only 1,36,549 patients are left. According to the Health Department update, 100 new deaths occurred in the country due to infection at 8 am, which increases the figure to 1,55,913.

The Ministry of Health said that India on Tuesday reported 4 cases of South Africa version of S-Cove-2 and one case of Brazil version. Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director general Balram Bhargava said, "Travelers and their contacts from both countries have been tested and quarantined." Continuing his talk, he said that ICMR-NIV Pune is trying to isolate and enhance the SA variant type from the samples of these four different individuals.

During this period, more than 88 lakh health and morcha activists have been given a dose in the ongoing immunization program. The nationwide vaccination campaign was started on 16 January and the vaccination of frontline workers was started from 2 February. The Ministry of Health has stated that Maharashtra and Kerala report the highest number of covid-19 cases and the most active cases.

Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said that "Like last week, the main reason for concern is again two states, as Kerala has 61,550 cases, while 27,383 cases are in Maharashtra." Continuing his talk, he added "In the last 24 hours, there are 3,365 new cases in Maharashtra, which is more than Kerala". India recorded another historic achievement on Tuesday as the national recovery rate from the corona virus, which is the highest in the world at 97.32 percent.
