New Delhi: Tripura Police has termed the claims of arson and vandalism at a mosque in Panisagar in the state as false. Police have clarified that the photographs and videos being shared on social media in this regard have nothing to do with the incident in the state. Even after the state police issued an explanation, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted on the issue and wrote, "Our Muslim brothers are being brutalised in Tripura. Hindus who hate and violence in the name of Hindus are hypocrites, not Hindus. How long will the government pretend to be blind?''

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's tweet, BJP leader Kapil Mishra hit back and wrote, 'Why tweet only for Muslims? Why not for all religions? Whyย did your mouth not open for Bangladesh? On Kashmir? On Lakhbir? Tripura Police is saying that nothing has happened and you started spreading lies all over the country. Why does no one ever write 'our Hindu brother' at the Congress Party?'

Another user commented, 'Even as Feroz Khan's grandson, you never remember Feroz Jahangir Khan.'

Vijender Singh commented, 'Anyway, it is good, how long did the electoral practices come to their true form one day by showing the janeu on top of the coat, and by calling the Dattatreya tribe, the Hindus! After all, Rahul Ji's only Muslim brothers suffer in the riots, the sensations had to be awakened, Hindus are carrot radishes, what difference does it make?' Shashikant Yadav wrote, 'did not remember Hindus from Bangladesh.' Another user wrote that in West Bengal when Hindus were being killed in Kashmir, people were fleeing, did you put curd in your mouths? How animals are in the Congress.
