Nevertheless, the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi visualized and consequently brought independence for Indians but his vision for clean and hygienic India is still to be accomplished. His movements have always emphasised maintaining hygiene and clean surroundings to circumvent threats of several diseases possibly caused by water loggings, dirty and dusty environment. In the past, he has said, “Sanitation is more important than independence”.
Several government-forming parties after independence in India have time and again amended laws and introduced nation-wide schemes for improving cleanliness and hygienic conditions. The present Bhartiya Janta Party government on October 2, 2014, launched a nation-wide campaign of ‘Swachh Bharat’ to commemorate thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi and effectively influence in providing sanitation facilities to every family.
Clean drinking water and having toilets in every home, installing machinery for disposal of wet and dry waste, arranging a system of water sprinkling are a few facilities the ruling government focused on. An Eco-Socio entrepreneur cum BJP worker from Mahim area of Mumbai, Sachin Shinde got inspired by the cleanliness campaign of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and implemented several social activities like clean water project, dustbin distribution, plastic-free environment, donation of sitting benches, student encouragement, women empowerment, and many more.
Amongst his other popular initiatives and drives, cleaning overhead and underground water tanks and distributing more than 100 dustbins across Mahim are the commendable works done by Mr Shinde. “At various public places in the city, my team and I have witnessed garbage laying open after which we took actionable measures to keep the city clean from the dump”, said the political leader. For his incredible work, the government has honoured him with Lokmat’s Political Icon of Mumbai for 2019.
Furthermore, Sachin Shinde revealed that he is fortunate to walk in the footprints of Mahatma Gandhi and the current PM of the country Narendra Modi. “They have contributed a lot to make India a clean country”, added Shinde. Besides this, Mr Sachin Shinde stated that the revolution to make India a clean and green India has always been the major focus of his team. With his exceptional work, Sachin Shinde has set an example for today’s youth, and he is constantly urging all the countrymen to maintain hygiene across their surroundings.
