Timothée Chalamet is all set to fight the internet! The Luca Guadagnino actor shared his frank thoughts about social media and its effect on his peers during the movie's press conference at the Venice Film Festival on Friday. — "To be young now, and to be young whenever — I can only speak for my generation — is to be intensely judged," Chalamet said, per Variety. "I can't imagine what it is to grow up with the onslaught of social media."

Chalamet got a break from all the likes, followers, and blue check marks tucked away in his phone thanks to the 1980s-set movie. "It was a relief to play characters who are wrestling with an internal dilemma absent the ability to go on Reddit, or Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok and figure out where they fit in," the actor said.

Chalamet does not, however, believe that social media is always a bad thing. He clarified, "I'm not casting judgment,". "You can find your tribe there."

However, he further highlighted, "I think it's hard to be alive now. I think a societal collapse is in the air. That's why hopefully this movie will matter."

The film Bones and All, which is based on Camille DeAngelis' 2015 book of the same name, follows the tale of Maren (Taylor Russell), a young woman with a peculiar desire for human flesh, who meets and falls in love with a lone traveller named Lee (Chalamet). Together, the two set out on a wonderfully lethal cross-country journey.

Following his role in Guadagnino's 2017 smash blockbuster film Call Me by Your Name, Chalamet was eager to work with him again. "I was dying to work with Luca again to tell a story that was grounded like the first story we told," he said. "Only this time in the American Midwest in the '80s about people that are disenfranchised in every way possible."

Michael Stuhlbarg, who starred in Call Me by Your Name, also makes an appearance in Bones and All, but Guadagnino recently stated that Armie Hammer, who has been accused of having cannibalistic sexual fantasies, has nothing to do with the movie.

It doesn't matter, Chalamet's opinions have given the world some very chewy food for thought before the Nov. 23 publication of Bones and All. View a portion of it above.
