Ekta Kapoor is an epitome of success and inspiration to all the women who want to make it big in their career. For more than 20 years, she has been ruling TV screens with her shows. Ekta's work is not just limited to TV anymore; she has also made it big in the film industry and the digital world.

Kapoor is known for launching some amazing actors in her shows. The characters from her show stand out so well, that even years down the line people remember them. In an interview with a leading daily, Ekta Kapoor was asked what makes her pick up any project. She said that she always chooses script over talent and there's an instinct that's honed along with experiments, experiences and audience feedback.

She added, "Success and failure come later. With Veere Di Wedding, I was in a tough space financially, but I went ahead with it, and it worked." Ekta was asked which the riskiest project was for her till date and she revealed that it was Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture as it was a Rs 12 crore loss on paper.

Ekta Kapoor stated, "Society should give birth to individuality and not curb it. It should support all and one, and not condemn anyone. I have always been guided by the ability to do what I want, not just what’s expected from me."

Ekta Kapoor became a mother this year through surrogacy. When asked her thoughts if the society is ready for surrogacy at large, she said that she has no idea about society but her family is ready. She added that society is a redundant institution if it doesn't support liberation.
