As per the information provided by our sources, on Sunday, a Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel were killed and three security officials were left injured post an encounter that took place with the terrorists near the Batamaloo area of Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar.


SP Vaid, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu and Kashmir informed that the encounter is still under process.

Vaid took to his official Twitter handle and asserted, “On specific information about the presence of terrorists in a hideout, an operation was launched in Batmaloo Srinagar leading to exchange of fire, one SOG boy martyred, one JKP and Two CRPF Jawans sustained injuries, operation continues."

Well, to take control of the situation, the authorities of the state have suspended internet services in the city of Srinagar, as a precaution.

There has been an extreme rise in the figures of the encounter cases that have been reported in the valley in the recent while.

The security forces had shot dead approximately five terrorists in an encounter in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, on August 9.
