THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned a ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) politician on Saturday in the alleged solar scam sex scandal case. The CBI has summoned LDF legislator K B Ganesh Kumar, his personal secretary Pradeep Kumar, and his relative Sharanya Manoj. Kumar's interrogation follows the CBI's interrogation of Congress MP Hibi Eden in Kochi on Friday.

The CBI had filed investigations against two-time Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Congress Lok Sabha members Hibi Eden and Adoor Prakash, Congress legislator A.P. Anil Kumar, and BJP National Vice-President A.P. Abdullakutty in August 2021.

The cases were launched after the solar scam suspect filed a complaint alleging that she was sexually exploited by all of the leaders against whom the CBI had brought charges.

\Just before the April 2021 Assembly elections, the accused woman filed a complaint with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who turned the issue over to the CBI. She submitted the complaint after a detailed investigation by the Kerala Police Department yielded no results. The CBI has filed three cases in Thiruvananthapuram's Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court and one case in Kochi's CJM court.
