New Delhi: Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and his legal team will now advocate on behalf of Delhi Police in the court related to anti-Delhi CAA riots. Earlier, the AAP government of Delhi had raised objections, but now the central government and Delhi government made a consensus on this and told the court that the Delhi government has no objection to the advocacy of Delhi Police by Tusshar Mehta and his team.

There was always a tussle between the central government and the Delhi government over lobbying for the Delhi Police in the Delhi High Court and the apex court. Many times this quarrel has come to the fore during the hearing in the court too. Many times lawyers from both sides have been found quarreling outside the court room. During the hearing of a case related to the Delhi riots, there was a heated debate between the Delhi Government Standing Counsel Rahul Mehra and ASG Aman Lekhi to put the Delhi Police's side in the court.

Not fear but precaution is solution to avoid corona

During the hearing in a case related to the Delhi riots on Friday, the High Court told the Delhi government that if the lawyers associated with the central government put the side of the Delhi Police in the court, then they have no objection. This stand of the Delhi government was seen during the hearing of the case related to the Delhi riots, in which the detention of the accused after being arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) has been challenged in the High Court, saying it is illegal.
