New Delhi: Former CM of the national capital and Delhi Congress President Sheila Dikshit has passed away. According to news agency ANI, Sheila Dikshit was ill for a long time, which led to her passing away. Sheila Dikshit breathed her last at Escort Hospital. Sheila Dikshit's demise has shocked Congress. She has long been Delhi's CM. Sheila's credit for the Metro and all the development in Delhi goes. Come know some special things about them:-

Sheila Dikshit has been Delhi's CM for the longest time. She won three consecutive assembly elections and ruled Delhi for 15 years. Dixit held the Delhi CM post from 1998 to 2013.

Sheila Dikshit has also taken over as Governor of Kerala.

Sheila Dikshit was an MP from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat (U.P.) from 1984 to 89. She was also a part of the Lok Sabha committees, including India's representative in the Commission for Women in the United Nations.

Sheila Dikshit has also served as Union Minister in the Rajiv Gandhi government of the past.

Sheila Dixit was married to late Vinod Dixit, an IAS officer of Unnao, UP. Vinod Dixit was the son of late Umashankar Dixit, former Governor of Bengal and veteran Congress leader. The credit for bringing Sheila to the Congress goes to Vinod Dixit.
