'Something about Soorarai Pottru or Jai Bhim provided me with a great learning curve', Says Suriya

Suriya recently spoke with Indian Express about his forthcoming film, 'Jai Bhim.' "It is fantastic to see powerful individuals around us," Suriya said of appearing in films based on real-life successes. It's fascinating to see how one individual can be such a lovely disruptor. And as a result of such change agents, good things might begin to develop in our society. For instance, he (Justice Chandru) was able to hire 25,000 individuals with a single ruling. I've worked on a variety of projects. But there was something about Soorarai Pottru or Jai Bhim that gave me a terrific learning curve."

Chandru in Jai Bhim, like Maara in Soorarai Pottru, is a rebel who seeks to change the existing quo and level the playing field. "It gives me a great sense of satisfaction and duty to select better films and personalities. Now that everything is becoming pan-India and so many people are watching from all over the world, it makes you want to accomplish even more. It pushes you to take that leap of faith and try something different than what has previously been done. It also gives you the confidence to go to new places and share fresh experiences. "You now have an audience that appreciates films like Jai Bhim," Suriya explained.

"In most of the human rights issues that Chandru sir has taken up, he has not charged a penny," Suriya continued. There are numerous persons in our court system who have done such things, not only Chandru sir."
