Mother is called by many names, such as Mummy, Mom, Mama, Mata Ammi, Mate; But every mother has the same role in our life. She is the foundation of every family. She is caring and shares unconditional love to all. The definition of a mother may vary somewhat from person to person, to some as a caregiver, to some as her best friend and to some as the best cook. We celebrate Mother's Day to give gratitude and appreciation to every mother in this world. A mother is such a great inspiration to all of us that just one day is not enough to appreciate the efforts of a mother.

Like every year, this year also Mother's Day is being celebrated on 8th May. Let us tell you that the first Mother's Day was celebrated in the year 1908 by Anna Jarvis as a memorial to her mother. Every mother deserves a day dedicated to her by her children and family. She works diligently to keep everyone together and encourages everyone. Just one day is not enough to celebrate the mother. Mother's Day is celebrated all over the world by expressing her love for her mother.

History of Mother's Day: The first Mother's Day is celebrated in 1908 by Anna Jarvis of Philadelphia. On May 12, 1998, he placed a memorial for his late mother at Grafton Church in West Virginia. Anna Jarvis wore all white carnations, but as this became complete with the custom, people began to wear red or pink carnations to represent the living mother. People have started wearing white carnations in memory of their dead mother. After which it was made a ritual in every state.

In 1914, US President Woodrow Wilson declared Mother's Day a national holiday. This went on for years, but at some point people began to include other people in the celebration, such as grandmothers and aunts who played mother roles. Anna Jarvis tries to end the vacation that started because of her. She wanted it to be a special day for mothers though people started celebrating it for other people as well.
