Lucknow: MP from Rae Bareli, the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi will visit her constituency on Wednesday to express her gratitude to voters for win in Lok Sabha election 2019. She will also be accompanied by her daughter and Congress party national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who would arrive in Rae Bareli on Tuesday evening. Rae Bareli is the only seat that Congress has won in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019.

During her visit, Sonia Gandhi is all set to review the party's shameful performance in the elections and also to strategize for the upcoming 2022 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Both Sonia and Priyanka Vadra will personally meet and express their gratitude to the booth level functionaries of the Congress party and the voters of Rae Bareli who helped the party keep its stronghold.

Congress spokesperson Anshu Awasthi said, "The leader will review the party's dismal performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has asked all the leaders in the main positions to ascertain the cause of the election defeat. "All the district level functionaries of the party will be present at the meeting on Wednesday. However, Priyanka and Sonia will not be visiting Amethi this time.
