Amritsar: After the defeat of the Congress in the Punjab assembly elections 2022, the party's interim president Sonia Gandhi's big statement has come to the fore. Sonia Gandhi said that it was her mistake to defend former CM Captain Amarinder Singh. Let us inform that Amarinder Singh had resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Punjab just before the elections and also left the Congress party.

After this, Amarinder Singh formed the new party Punjab Lok Congress and contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections in alliance with the BJP, however, his party could not do much. On the other hand, in the CWC meeting of the Congress on Sunday, it was raised that if the captain was to be removed from the post, then he had to be removed first. To this, Sonia Gandhi reacted and said that I kept saving Captain Sahib, it was my fault.

On the other hand, Amarinder Singh has attacked the Gandhi family. He said that only the Gandhi family is responsible for the defeat of Congress in five states. Amarinder Singh said that Congress dug its own grave by taking the support of provisional Sidhu and corrupt Channi. Holding the Gandhi family responsible, Amarinder Singh said that the Congress has lost badly not only in Punjab but also in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur. He said that this has happened because people have lost faith in the leadership of the Gandhi family.
