New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi is set to meet Uttrakhand Congress leaders to Delhi on Tuesday, October 25. As per the details derived from sources, Sonia Gandhi will talk over preparations for the upcoming Assembly elections with the leaders of Uttrakhand. The Congress president will also review the disaster relief work in the state.

Uttrakhand Congress sources said that in this meeting the high command will also determine which leaders will be given entry to the Congress from the Bharatiya Janata party and which leaders will not. The result of the 2022 Assembly polls in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Manipur is keenly awaited before Rahul Gandhi formally declares himself as a candidate for the party’s presidential polls.

Notably, In the current political landscape of Congress,, both Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi are showing signs of promise. Priyanka has been successful in getting some concern in battleground Uttar Pradesh. Her offer to grant 40 per cent tickets to women candidates is worthwhile. There is lack of pragmatic research on gender-based voting patterns, but in recent years, Mamata Banerjee, Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal have been successful in mobilising a greater percentage of women voters. Meanwhile, according to sources,  the rebels who want to join the Congress may also get a green signal on Sonia Gandhi to get re-induction into the party. Assembly elections in Uttrakhand are slated for early next year.
