Sonu Sood Roped In As Brand Ambassador For AAP's Programme

Bollywood actor and Messiah for Indians Sonu Sood visited Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the national capital on Thursday. The actor here joined hands with the leader and CM of Delhi for the 'Desh Ke Mentors' initiative. With the upcoming Punjab Assembly Elections high on the agenda for Aam Aadmi Party, Delhi Chief Minister on Friday met actor Sonu Sood. 

The meeting comes amid thoughts that the Bollywood actor may contest the upcoming Punjab polls. AAP convenor Kejriwal along with Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, MLA from Rajinder Nagar constituency Raghav Chadha and others met the actor and philanthropist. Soon after the meeting, the party held a press conference where the actor was also present. Kejriwal announced that Sonu Sood has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the Delhi government's program for kids called - 'Desh Ke Mentor' during the press conference. Meanwhile, Sonu Sood told reporters "Today, I have been given an opportunity to mentor lakhs of students. There is no greater service than guiding students. I am sure together we can & we will." Sood apart from his acting popularity is also known for the philanthropical work of helping thousands of people during the nationwide Covid lockdown. Sonu Sood after this soon became a household name as he emerged as a hope for many people in distress during the pandemic. 

Recently, Sonu Sood was appointed as the Brand Ambassador for the Punjab government's Covid vaccination drive. The actor also met Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh in April this year. Interestingly, Maharashtra Congress charted out a strategy where it recommended that the party should project actors Sonu Sood, Riteish Deshmukh, or model Milind Soman as its mayoral candidate.
